It’s been nice to return to a marina that we know…even if it is a long walk to grass! I’ve just learned to go wherever I feel the need. Mom or dad are good about cleaning up after me!

We woke up to a much sunnier, but cool day here for our trip to Orange Beach, AL. Mom and I were coming back from our morning walk when we met a man with a parrot on his shoulder. The parrot’s name was Casey and he was 24 years old. He pretty much took Casey with him whenever he could including to work. Too incredible! In a marina one never knows what you will see!!! (Did we get a photo? Of course not, it was one of the few times mom didn’t have her phone on her.)

Didn't find time to play on all this playground equipment at Lulu's

Lucy Buffett's Lulu's Restaurant, the food is just OK; but it's a fun place to come!

We are in the lead at this point

Love the birds finding a dry, high place to perch

Here are some of the various waterfront views along the ICW heading to Orange Beach, AL

I was surprised to see trees changing colors this far south
We had to slip in this photo of our son, the new papa amusing his daughter Ella...
Somewhere we have a photo of him on Mike's chest like this photo. :-)

Moondance and Fin’s crew has been enjoying seeing all the dolphins again but have as yet to photograph any of them…they seem to be playing camera shy!

Orange Beach, AL                      Orange Beach Marina                                11/14-16/2016

Since it wasn’t a long run to here from Homeport we got here early afternoon. Again, we saw various birds and our friendly but camera shy dolphins. The only commercial businesses we have seen are marinas, condos and one shopping center by The Wharf Marina.

The homes just keep getting prettier and prettier including fancy docks/boathouses that might even include a kitchen/bar area.

As we headed into the Orange Beach channel, dad was mumbling about how confusing it was! Mom and I started getting glimpses of the tall condo buildings on the beach and finally, the beach itself. The colors in the Gulf never fail to get mom excited! Me, I don’t see what all the fuss is about!!! Mom was photographing away…birds, a shrimping boat, Fins, the colors of the water; whatever caught her fancy! After what seemed like forever we found the blind pass to get back to the marina.

Loved the colorful chairs for enjoying the view
Boathouse complete with kitchen and bar
Off in the background is the Gulf of Mexico
Check out the changing water color...
Shrimpers
The beach at the start of the Gulf of Mexico Pass
Hanging on...
Loved the blues contrasted with the white beach and building
WOW!!!

Is this the perfect kids and grandkids hangout or what???

Still some empty building sites...
Jill from Chasing 80 was there along with another person to catch our lines while her hubby Kevin went to Fins dock to catch theirs. We all appreciate the help!!! It was a delight to see Kevin and Jill again and as mom is prone to do, she arranged for dock tails with Chasing 80 and Fins at the Tiki Bar at the end of our dock.

Mom and Fins headed out shopping after they checked in. She keeps worrying about my one eye and making sure I have some type of eyewash to help it. It was a quick trip!

Before you knew it, mom had met our neighbor loopers, “One Eyed Dog’s” Ellen & Kim- BOB, Larry & April and “Tag Team 2” Tom and Sue. Turns out, it was the first dock tails for those two boats…what fun! As always, it was a enjoyable time despite nightfall falling early! Phil’s Thermacell Lantern saved the event!!! No bug bites for us!!!
We all agreed to go out to dinner tomorrow at Wintzell’s Oyster Bar!  M & D can’t wait!

Fins and Moondance headed to Sassy Bass for dinner after dock tails. Mom was nice enough once again to share her chicken with me. Mom told me that she is hoping that Phil has a moon photo that he will share with her since he had his fancy long lens on his camera. It was really bright, big and gorgeous!!!
She took these photos with her phone but we decided they were still kind of fun and funky.

Lily and I took these on our morning walk...our canal coming into the marina

Enjoyed the quiet, catch up day with mom and dad until mom decided to give me a bath. UGH! At least she gave me a delicious dinner before they left to go to dinner with Chasing 80, Fins and One Eyed Dog. They had an enjoyable evening and dinner, so mom says! Afterwards, M & D went on board One Eyed Dog for a quick drink and tour.

The next morning some of them toured our boat and Fins and gave us a lovely send off along with Chasin 80. Hope to see them again in Florida some time next year!!!

Right after I shot this photo a large boat the same size as this one appeared on the other side of that large boat and Mike had to put it in reverse...there wasn't room for both of us!
