"Draggin Dragon" Sista to the Rescue in Oswego, NY

Oswego, NY                                                               Oswego Marina                                                         July 13-15, 2016

We were blessed with another gorgeous morning to catch up with our fellow loopers, Jammin Jane and Knot Sew Easy for the cruise to Oswego, NY. We went through one last lock on the Erie Canal before we started with the locks on the Oswego canal in Phoenix, NY. Already have seen an old wooden canal boat with an older looking couple manning it…Too cute! I for one am not painting and varnishing all that wood! No way! Not my kind of smell!!!
I pointed out a couple of bald eagles to mom and dad too…It’s so lush up here with smaller more affordable houses and cabins, but people have lots of toys; jet skis, fishing and pontoon boats, 4 wheelers and so on…

Going though the Phoenix lock our West Marine Surehold boat hook went sliding over the side and into the lock. I talked to Minnie and she has a West Marine 15 min from her. So I called them to get the numbers, they looked up our account and found them. I gave them to Minnie and she will replace it for us when she and George come tomorrow with the rest of our supplies. Gotta love friends to the rescue!!!

It’s probably going to be among our hottest day on the Loop and I certainly didn’t expect these temperatures this far North. I’m not getting far from one the fans! Thank Goodness mom finally came to her senses!!! She turned on the Genset and the AC in the salon and our stateroom…I was melting even with the fan!
Not long after that we arrive in Oswego after going through 9 locks…M & D looked beat especially with the heat and the thunderstorm that started threatening us at the last two locks. We no sooner docked than the heaven’s let loose! Mom and I got drenched when she was walking me…

After warm showers we all perked up and Liz, Bob, Ben and Jane came over for dock tails in our salon before walking over to the Press Box for dinner. I got so much attention and I was loving it!!!
The weather isn’t looking so good for leaving tomorrow for Oswego but things change so rapidly around here we will see.
Bek and Milena told us to add an app to our phone called Viber, then we can talk to anyone around the world for free, just using their regular number…

We will see how well it works…in the meantime, texting seems to be our best form of communication if our ATT is dicey. Looking forward to seeing George and Minnie later…after we give Moondance a through cleaning inside and out!

Phoenix Lockmaster station

Looks like some nice free docks but we pushed on

More canal or bridge ruins but this time on the Oswego

Ben and Jane at the Press Box

Just in case there is any doubt about who is in charge during our trip, here is the Admiral dominating our bed

Loved this cute older couple on this very old wooden canal boat!

Our last bridges that we passed under as we entered the cut to the Oswego Canal

The sign showing Oswego to the right, the Western Erie Canal to the left

It's pretty pixelated here since I cropped it down, but what a beauty!!! One of two we saw along the Oswego
