St. Michael's, MD, a Chesapeake Gem

St Michael’s, MD                                                      St.Michael’s Marina                                                June 15-16, 2016
After a fantastic stay at Annapolis and a dinner meal at the Yacht Club with newly made friends, Cindy and Lloyd (who live in Placida FL.), mom and dad finished up their stay here.
We woke to showers this AM, but they tapered off in time for us to leave at the first drawbridge lift at 9 AM. As we left we saw some of the midshipmen manning their Navy YP training boats. It was a really smooth cruising day, but overcast and drizzly…so not one of our prettier days on the water. We arrived at St. Michael’s around 1 PM, so after getting everything secure M & D took down their bikes and went exploring…I didn’t get to see much beyond the marina parking lot, but mom and dad said they understood why everyone said you have to come here…

The town truly looks like a picture postcard!!! Darling shops, picturesque Victorian houses, cottages, parks and gardens. They found St. Michael’s Winery and The Eastern Shore Brewery in the Mill District here. Biking after sampling the goodies of these two establishments was a bit trickier!!! Mom and dad bought some sandwiches at a local deli and ate on Moondance. While they were eating they heard the church bells playing another melody, the second time since we have landed. Lovely!
Cory, our bartender at the Brewery

Loved the saying on the back of his shirt, "A Drinking Village with a Sailing Problem"

Complete with a covered bridge
