Myrtle Beach Where Bikers, Boaters & Bikinis Abound!!!

Barefoot Landing Marina                                      Myrtle Beach, SC                                             May 20-23, 2016
It was an easier day traveling, just cloudy, cool and misty. Incredibly beautiful wildlife refuges and again miles of lowlands. Mom has been at the helm more and more giving dad more breaks…It’s obvious she is feeling more confidence.

I love this new place! I just have to go up the ramp and the grass is right there!!! HEAVEN!!! There are so many great places to go shop, eat and just walk around right here. The people at the Marina are beyond helpful!

Cindy and Steve came to our boat and brought all our goodies that we had sent to them…It was like Christmas all over again including our mail! Mom got her Mother’s Day gift …YEAH! Biking will be much more comfortable now with my new fancy seat, biking pants and snazzy socks!!!They had docktails on board. I got lots of loving & dinner before they took off for their 44th Anniversary dinner at Castano’s…YUM! It sounds like Saturday Cindy and Steve are going to take them shopping and seeing some of Myrtle Beach…I love these days when they just leave me to catch up on my sleep!

WOW!!! Mom and Dad said Myrtle Beach has dramatically changed since they were here right after dad returned from Vietnam in 1973. It’s so grown up now with all kinds of Disney World like entertainment and shopping complexes…not just a beach town any longer! Cindy and Steve’s home is situated in one corner of a golf fairway, so they have 270 degree views of the golf course from most of their windows…It’s magical! Almost like living in a forest paradise, but they have neighbors if they want company. A huge difference from their Warrenton, VA 1807 log cabin/farmhouse complete with Civil War cemetery! If they cross the golf course, they are less than a mile walk from the beach, but it’s much safer to drive around and park behind their subdivision’s cabana...then take their stuff to the beach. What a wonderful deal!!! We saw one incredible planned community after another as we came up the ICW…They are truly incredible!

We had a fantastic lunch with them at Landry’s in the BoardWalk at the Beach Complex before they took us grocery shopping. We were all so full and exhausted that they brought us back and we decided to meet up the next day… I loved that decision! I got to spend the evening with my two best buds! We all hung out on the flybridge and watched the boaters and bikers go by either side of us…M & D having docktails & me having my doggie goodies and dinner!!! Life is good when you are a Sage dog!

Not sure what today will hold…it’s cloudy and cool with possible showers later but it’s suppose to get up to 77 with sun at some point? As always M & D are taking care of boat business, cleaning strainers and filters along with laundry and so forth before they meet up with Steve and Cindy again.

Saying goodbye to Harbor Walk Marina in Georgetown

Our goodies have arrived...thanks to Cindy and Steve!

Cindy and Steve's Myrtle Beach Golf Course View and One of their Bathroom Fixtures left to Them...Wow! :-)

Coming up the ICW at middle tide as you can see from the Lowlands
Love the look of these trees submerged in water

More McMansions along the ICW right outside North Myrtle Beach. This one was so large I couldn't fit it into one photo!

On the massive manmade lake within Boardwalk on the Beach, just one of the entertainments...

Hungry carp/catfish waiting to be fed

Took this photo looking up from our salon at Mike and Lily above us. Lily wouldn't look at me...silly girl!
