I Think We are Hearing Banjos???

Cleaning up after dinner

Kilkenny Creek threading through the lowland marshes...

I actually woke up first for a change and hoped off the bed… As I was more fully waking up, mom got dressed and took me for a long morning walk. We returned to blueberry muffins and a paper this AM before we shoved off. We have literally traveled for miles without seeing much signs of civilization. Just miles and miles of lush lowland marshes…Beautiful and serene even with the cloudiness of the day!!! In Sapelo Sound we watched a six foot stingray dancing across the waters…Amazing!!! Have been followin a Selene Trawler 48’, Tranquility, Cape Haze, FL  all day. They helped to show us the way to Kilkenny…turns out they have been here 3 times.
After mom walked and fed me, M & D went to have dock tails on Tranquility. They told what an interesting couple they are…They live on their boat but have a condo at Palm Island Resort, FL,. so not far from us back home. They are spending the summer in the Chesapeake.

The Kilkenny Marina owner told us that this marina is part of an old plantation that he and his brother inherited…Truly, it is beyond rustic here! We are talking about feeling in the middle of no where… We are able to pull up one TV station and one bar on our cellphone. Again the tidal surges are so incredible that Dad and I were barely able to climb up the ramp to  walk after dinner…the ramp was almost straight up like a ladder!!!

Fortunately, the docks are floating which means we don’t have to adjust our lines as the tides go up and down…but they are rickety at best…definitely combining drinking and these docks are a recipe for disaster…OH MY GOSH!!! Mom is hoping that the sun is out tomorrow morning so she can photograph this place before we leave…

  1. Tell your mom we are thinking of her as we prepare for Marathon. Two more race practices and off we go. Won't be the same without you all. Have fun and be safe. Love.....
