Charleston, Never Mind

It was a long, rainy day and it didn’t stop raining until about 9 PM…Mom and I got drenched walking to the marina office, then trying to find somewhere for me to go…I’m giving this marina a PAWS DOWN for dogs. They put us on the Mega Dock with all the Mega yachts so we had to walk a mile to the parking lot and still didn’t find grass! Needless to say, even with them having a shuttle service into downtown Charleston we all ate in…When it was time for me to go one last time before bedtime, I just did it on the concrete…forget that walk for nothing!

Left Charleston in a grey fog but the sun has broken out occasionally…Hoping we can make it to Georgetown for our two day stay before the rain hits again. Today we saw lots of dolphins, birds and wildlife refuges along the way. We seem to be hitting lots of low tides on the ICW, so it keeps mom and dad on their toes driving…not to mention the depth alarm going off a lot!!! I hate that!!! We all really enjoy the wild, mostly untouched beauty of this area…just a few houses
here and there… Saw quite a few alligators today just swimming along beside us…

Made it to Georgetown and the people here couldn’t be any friendlier…Looking forward to going out to dinner tonight and riding our bikes around town tomorrow.
Our view of Charlestown as we left this morning

I remember riding bicycles past some of these homes the first time we were here with the kids

We couldn't remember what this little island is?

We could barely see the Naval Museum with the boats in the distance.

Fort Sumter

Just one of the many we saw today

The lowlands/marshes are so gorgeous, but it's hard to see it when the sun isn't shining...so many intense and rich colors of greens and yellows...

Thought it was interesting that so many different types of birds were hanging out on these old posts
